Go for gold
For the past week, the world's attention has been focused on Rio, passionate crowds curious to know what color the pool water would be today, or whether an alligator had eaten any of the golfers. Also, I guess there's some sports stuff going on? Closer to home, Thursday has come again, which means its time for a medal-worthy Farmington Rotary meeting. Don't false start.
Today
Today's featured event is the second annual running of the 'round-the-table school supply relay. We'll pack backpacks with notebooks, pencils and other classroom essentials to be sent to students in Peru. Last year's inaugural running was a big success. It's an event that combines the thrills of the 4x100 relay and the brutal violence of world class table tennis. You don't want to miss it.
Next week
You drink coffee, but are you doing it right? The best roast? The right coffeemaker? Did you know you can just pour it in your ear and it's way better than drinking it?
I don't know if that last thing is true, but Tim Aylward probably does. Tim is the owner of the new BlueNose Coffee in Farmington and he probably knows way more than you do about coffee and tea. He's going to share his secrets with us next week.
Sell, sell, sell
By now, everyone in the club should have gotten at least 10 Ramble Jam raffle tickets to sell. Ideally, you've sold them and come back for more, because every ticket we sell is 100 percent profit for the club and one more chance for someone you know to win a prize that will probably make them like you way better. If you've sold your tickets, please make sure to turn in your money as soon as you can. If you haven't then, you know, it would be super nice if you did that. We'd like to get everything squared away early so we're not trying to count those fat stacks of cash in the final days before Ramble Jam.
