I'm in hiding right now. Maybe you are, too. It's like the witness protection program, only in this case the protection is the tiny window air conditioner that's just enough to cool the two upstairs rooms of my house. And the mob enforcers I'm hiding from is the kind of unpleasant heat and humidity that can lead to an unfortunate condition commonly known as soupy drawers. What I'm saying is, I'm glad I bought a laptop earlier this year. Because if I had to go down to my office to write this, you'd all probably show up for today's meeting wondering what's on the agenda. Also, you probably wouldn't have gotten to read the phrase "soupy drawers" while you were sitting at work.

Anyway, the good news is, Celts has air conditioning. And Rotarians are all naturally cool anyway.

Ramble Jam. Maybe you've heard of it. It's a big thing we do. There are a lot of moving parts. Lots of things to keep track of. Probably one or two people who have had a little too much to drink. And that's just the Rotarians at the end of the day Saturday.

It's all coming up, too. As this message goes out we're just over 57 days away from the start of the festivities. But not, obviously, from the start of the work. That's why we're dedicating today's meeting to the event. Come get all your questions answered. Learn what needs to be done, and what you can do to contribute. Learn what's expected of you and what you get for your efforts. Please show up so we can all be prepared to make Ramble Jam 2016 an amazing weekend.

We'll wrap up June with Mike Frawley, who is the director and president of the Minnesota Zoo and president of the Minnesota Zoo foundation. All of which means he can probably check out a dolphin show anytime he wants.

John will talk about why he came back to Minnesota after 23 years, why zoos are more important now than they ever have been and what's next for the zoo. Fingers crossed it involves some kind of exhibit of real, live Pokemon. Fingers also crossed that John brings a monkey with him.

You all remember the Leprechaun Days parade is coming up at 11:30 a.m. July 30, right? We've talked about how we team up with Rosemount Rotary and hand out Ramble Jam information? Good. I thought so.

Last week we mentioned that there is an opportunity to attend a K102 concert with Ramble Jam performer Chris Janson Aug. 4. It's on a boat. We need to let them know by July 25 how many tickets we want. We also need to know how many Rotarians plan to trade wing tips for boat shoes so we know whether to schedule a speaker for that meeting or find some other way to have fun with all of the non-boatgoers.
