June 28 meeting: Classification talks
Rotary has this thing called classifications. According to Rotary.org, "...classifications refer to occupations, professional expertise, and training. Rotary clubs aim to include members from a number of classifications because (that) increases a club's capacity to serve its community." 
 
And a unique Rotary tradition is a classification talk. This is an opportunity for Rotarians to stand up and talk about their business. It's also an opportunity for club members to ask personal questions. It's not good manners, but it's an opportunity. So show up on June 28 at noon at Celt's in downtown Farmington. Because classification talks are on the agenda, and this just might be an opportunity you wouldn't want to miss.
July 5 meeting: No meeting!
It seems a bit of an oxymoron to say our July 5 meeting is no meeting, but in fact, that's what it is. It's not a meeting. So in other words, don't show up for a meeting on July 5. Because, well, you know – there's no meeting.
 
So we'll see everyone on July 12 when President Shannon Nielson takes the reigns of Farmington Rotary and we get to witness her cat-herding skills. She has three kids so Farmington Rotary should be a piece of cake for her, right? Everyone: be on your best behavior. At least for her first week. Then you can revert to whatever you normally do.
Reminder to donate a gift card
This is a reminder that Farminton Rotarians are asked to donate a low-increment gift card to be used as a small prize at the annual Breaking Free family BBQ. Please bring a $5 or $10 gift card to to a meeting by July 26 and give it to Leshia. You can also drop it off for her at Premier Bank in downtown Farmington.
 
Your club is also purchasing two $50 Target gift cards to donate as larger prizes. Thank you for supporting these women and children in their journey to be free of sexual violence.
Meeting hosts
A reminder to check the meeting host schedule in the sidebar of The Source to learn when you are scheduled to serve. Each Rotarian serves as a meeting host one month of the year and is responsible for working with your co-host(s) to do the following:
  • Schedule speakers for your month
  • Arrive early to set up
  • Give the meal count to the kitchen
  • Stay late to take down
Please review the meeting host responsibilities for complete details. Contact Janie if you have questions or a conflict with the month you are assigned.
 
Thank you Sara, TJ and Lori for being great meeting hosts for December.  Leshia, Ann and Krysia ... you are starting off the 2019 calendar year and the half way point of the Rotary year with hosting duties.
