May Students of the Month
- Kennedi Ellis - Akin Road Elementary
Kennedi is always looking for ways to give back to her community, from making blankets for police officers and donating to local women’s and homeless shelters through 360 Communities, to organizing a toy drive that provided over 100 toys for children in the community. During COVID, she also helped deliver 60 food plates across 200 miles to families in need. She shows incredible perseverance and grit, always striving to improve and do her best. At school, she keeps everyone smiling with her favorite subject being “going home” — although she admits math is pretty fun when it’s something she already knows! She is a caring little helper at home to her twin brother, older sister, and older brother, and was proudly celebrated by her mom and grandmother, who traveled from Mississippi to be here for this special moment.
- Logan Watts - Riverview Elementary
Logan is an exemplar student who loves to read, especially fantasy books, and is always stepping up to help anyone in need. He consistently demonstrates all aspects of the CARES program through his kindness and thoughtful acts that make a difference every day. Outside of school, he enjoys playing lacrosse and basketball and loves Star Wars games. He also recently showed incredible compassion by creating and selling 3D-printed keychains to raise money for a local family facing difficult circumstances. Supported by his mom and dad at the celebration, he continues to be a wonderful role model both in and out of the classroom.
