It seems safe to assume they did it much faster, though to be fair they have way more people cheering them on. Closer to home, we have a great speaker and a board meeting to look forward to. And if none of that works out, maybe we can all just walk around downtown and catch Pokemon.

Richard Lett spent 30 years leading the protection of the England's royal family for Scotland Yard. He was there for the wedding of Prince Charles and Camilla in 2005 and of Prince William and Katherine in 2011. He's a member of the Royal Victorian Order, which I assume has something to do with ladies' underwear, and he is currently making plans to sail from Duluth to England and back in a race to benefit Gillette Children's Hospital. And he met his wife in circumstances that prove any situation can be romantic if you look at it in the right way.
So, basically, he probably has some stories to tell.

Next week's meeting will be dedicated to Ramble Jam, which is a little country music festival of which you may have heard. We'll talk layout, what's expected of members and just how drunk you should be before you try to dance on stage.

Our good friend and Ramble Jam headliner Chris Janson is making an early appearance in the Twin Cities as part of K102's Country Cruise Aug. 4. Since we're on board as one of the event's sponsors, we have access to tickets. So, if you want to spend a summer day lounging on a boat on the St. Croix River and listening to country music and maybe even drinking a beer you definitely could. K102 needs to know by July 25 how many Farmington Rotarians want to attend. If enough of the club is feeling nautical, we could even consider making that our meeting for that week. Let Lori know if you're interested. The sooner the better.

Our Rotary friend Stefan Hanson mentioned last week that there will be a fundraiser at 12:30 p.m. July 17 at his family's restaurant, Marx Fusion Bistro, in Stillwater. Attend and you can get a lunch of sirloin with mashed potatoes, shrimp with citrus ginger glaze or a vegetarian option that apparently doesn't even warrant a description because, ugh, vegetarian.
Money raised will support Stefan's participation in the Ultimate Hike, a long walk on the Superior Hiking Trail to raise money for CureSearch.
