Dan Tranter is the supervisor of the Indoor Air Unit at the Minnesota Department of Health. He has been with the Indoor Air Unit since 2001 and has a Master of Public Health Degree from the University of Minnesota.
The Indoor Air Unit conducts research, education and outreach concerning indoor air quality, especially radon, mold and carbon monoxide. Unit staff also regulate smoking in public places, air quality in enclosed sports arenas, and radon professional licensure.

Our March Student of the month is Maya Belayneh!
Maya is a bright light at Farmington High School. Her counselor and teachers describe her as brave, artistic, lively, positive, and friendly. She is highly engaged in the school community and participates in theater, advanced art, the Diversity Club, and the Women of Color Empowerment Club—often taking on leadership roles within these groups.
Maya is one of three children in her family, and her mother describes her as the glue that holds them all together. While she is still exploring her future path, she is drawn to art, film, or criminology and has expressed interest in beginning her general studies at Normandale Community College.
