Many of you have been a part of The Farmington Rotary Board. For some that day has passed (for the time being); for others The Board just won't let go. It is important to know what The Board is doing and what decisions are being made for the club. Do all Rotarians here last year remember the hard work and tireless effort that we all put in to Ramble Jam last year? What was all that work done for? To give right?! I am proud to announce that we are at it again. July's Board meeting was amazing to be a part of and witness the giving that was done. To start it off The Board approved $750 to the Dakota County Treatment Courts which assists individuals with treatment and rehabilitation of chemical addiction. The next giving went to The Sheridan Story in the form of $4,200! This amount will be able to provide 21 students food to take home for a full year. Last but certainly not least was $6,000 to The Miracle League which helps to build a mini golf range/course at King Park for children with disabilities. It is moments like these that makes me so excited for this next Ramble Jam event. There were also talks about where the Farmington Iconic Project is at and where it is going. Items are moving forward with concept designs which are looking fantastic. Th Board has not voted on anything at this time for the "Park and Plaza Plan". There will be more to come on this for sure. More talks came up about how we can get involved in the Grant Programs. Janie is looking more into what it will take so we can start making our money that we currently have work for us if we decide to come up with our own international project. There is also opportunities to piggy-back off of other clubs if something hits home for us. Keep an eye out next month for more exciting news and Highlights from The Board. |
