Do you remember last fall hearing about our schools collecting buckets of cleaning supplies to send to Texas?  Did you or someone you know donate a bucket, attend the sendoff of a semi truck and supplies from Pellicci ACE Hardware?  Following the impact of Hurricane Harvey last year, several community members started meeting and formed the FCDR; the Farmington Community Disaster Response effort. Join us on Thursday, June 7 to hear an update from members of this team, including Mayor Todd Larson, and those from the city, community, businesses, churches, and even a few Rotarians.
 
And as June concludes the Rotary year, join the efforts of Rotarians around the world to finish the year strong with your financial support to the Rotary Foundation. The Foundation helps so many people in so many ways in so many places, and perhaps provides Farmington Rotary an opportunity to team up with other Rotary clubs to do even more for the people Texas. Join us at noon at Celt's in downtown Farmington on June 7, as we hear from the FCDR team.

This potentially-good-looking group of Rotarians had the privilege of presenting two Service Above Self and two STRIVE scholarships to four accomplished graduating seniors from Farmington schools in May.

 

Styve Smedshammer from Farmington High School accepted her $1,000 Service Above Self scholarship May 30. An additional $1,000 scholarship was presented to Jaselyn Anderson at Christian Life Academy the following morning.

 

Selena Garcia from FHS was on hand May 30 to accept a $1,000 STRIVE scholarship. Brian Trejo Soto, not pictured, was also awarded a $1,000 STRIVE scholarship.

 

Thank you to Farmington Rotarian Jamie Thompson for leading the club's scholarship efforts, and to you, for your continued support of this club. This is one of the many ways Farmington Rotary makes a difference here and around the world.

Remember: We are not holding a regular meeting on July 5. The board voted to cancel it due to the July 4 holiday. Now you can go to the cabin guilt-free. Or do whatever else you want to do guilt-free. The choice is yours.
