Ramble Jam Update

We are nearing ever so closer to Farmington Rotary's favorite time of the year... Ramble Jam!  It is the time where the hard work and dedication shows itself.  So where are we at now?  What are the highs and lows up to this point? 1st suggestion besides reading The Source (which I know is a ritual for everyone) is to attend the Ramble jam Committee Meeting.  They happen every Wednesday from 8:30 - 9:30 at City Hall until the RJ.

This week’s meeting had its highs with learning that all Ramble Jammers (yes I just made this up unless I wasn't the first; let me know :)) will be wanded when they walk through the front gates, the look of the wristbands for 2018 (get to know'em), almost 1,200 VIP and General Admission tickets sold and we have a PIZZA VENDOR!

The lows, which can be remedied, were that we are still short almost $17,000 for Sponsorships and Rotary members have sold to date $4,800 worth of Raffle Tickets which if I remember hearing correctly (because I didn't write it down) is kind of short of where we should probably be.  Solution: Talk to everyone you know and ask.  Ask for Sponsorships, ask for Raffle Tickets.  If you never ask, the answer is always NO.

Board Update

A great problem to have when writing The Source is to have so much content that you have to figure out a way to get it crammed in and keep the audience engaged. We certainly had that at the Board Meeting.

Going down the line I will start with the Rotary Summit in Northfield on 9/18 from 5:45pm - 8:45PM.  So far 3 board members in Leshia, Shannon and myself will be attending and doing car pools.  Please reach on out to one of us so we can get you in the car pool, have a great presence down there and hopefully understand our "Why" clearer of Rotary afterwards.

We are really close to having IVolunteer being initiated for volunteers from the public - I know it has to do with RJ but it was discussed at the Board meeting :)

Finally I will touch on what I felt was a huge item was Service Projects:

We have 9/1 and 9/2 available at Family Fresh to set up a booth, promote RJ and sell the heck out of Raffle Tickets.

St. Michaels Church for the senior luncheon is set for 12/13.  Leshia is diligently working on solidifying catering and luckily I will not be Santa even though I had a blast last year doing it.

The Back Pack project is getting its legs and more than likely will be done the Thursday following RJ - more to come on this.

Finally, there has been rumblings.  What sort of Rumblings you may ask.  Rumblings of a potential second fundraiser event.  There was some great back and forth and brainstorming happening for a large part of the meeting.  I have a feeling that this will only gain traction after RJ.

Shout Out

Last but not least I want to give a shout out to Kyle Anderson for setting up the Farmington Rotary Members secret Facebook Page.  The page was only started 2 days ago and there is a ton of content on it.  Great idea Kyle for an additional communication source so we can all stay on top of what is happening.  I have a feeling that this is really going to take off!
