Last Week - Students of the Month
Kayla - It took a pandemic for Kayla to realize that she was making poor decisions in school and life. Kayla was on the verge of not being able to graduate on time or at all but changed her life around and will be graduating this spring! Kayla had multiple staff members at the meeting who all praised her efforts and attitude the past couple of years and some even shed a couple tears talking about how far she has come! Kayla brought along her mother, who was very proud of her. Kayla wants to become a flight attendant so she can travel the world.
Andrea - Andrea was born here in Minnesota but lived most of her life in Mexico with her family. While in Mexico, Andrea's mental health really suffered. Just over a year ago, she made the decision to move back to Minnesota with her siblings and live with an Uncle. She has been so much happier since moving back here and really loves school. Andrea had to work hard to make up some classes that didn't transfer from Mexico so that she can graduate this year. She was also able to receive scholarships to attended the University of Minnesota next year, where she is going to study psychology.

STRIVE
There is STRIVE this week (March 17th) at 11:15am at the Farmington High School.

"Good afternoon to each of you!
We are planning to host STRIVE tomorrow, Thursday, March 17, 11:15 a.m. at the high school.
I am hoping to share a communication exercise to engage the students tomorrow, and then we will take time to hear more about what kind of support and encouragement and tools they are looking for, and how we can best support them.
One of the goals for tomorrow will be “clarity.” If helpful to the students tomorrow, we will begin to clarify, seek clarity, when it comes to identifying what they are looking for, what adds stress for them, what helps them find clarity.
Bring tomorrow any tools or thoughts you have when it comes to seeking clarity … hope you join us!
